Introducing Second Life
What is Second Life?
To understand how our systems have the potential to revolutionise Second Life, you need an idea of just what Second Life is.
This alternative universe is summarized as 'an online, 3D virtual world imagined and created by its residents'. You can visit the site by clicking here.
ELZWARE interactive solutions and Second Life
Heading back into Second Life, is, for ELZWARE, returning to our roots. Second Life's predecessor Meridian 59 was researched by Phil Hall in the mid 1990s inspired the systems we now specialise in.
But where do conversational systems fit into this new world?
If you've never visited Second Life, stop for a second and imagine a virtual world. A virtual world with everything the real world contains. Shops, bars, entertainment venues, even embassies... the only limitation is imagination. The first interface between customers and you
So your business has realised the benefits of a Second Life presence. Thing is, you need staff to run it - after all, avatars need to be controlled be real people... don't they?
AI for a more intelligent solution
We're working to create systems that are capable of answering FAQs in Second Life. They will appear as avatars, and if users' questions are too complicated, they can lead visitors to 'real' avatars for more help and advice.
Developments so far
We've created a prototype area where you can talk to Yhaken off-world in as stylish a way as you would expect. We're currently working with Adrian Shipp to generate animation that will let us implement our broader strategy to take conversational systems into virtual worlds.
Second Life and the future
2009 will be a big push as we cross breed our off-world skills and take on the delivery of information surrounding the experiences of being, purchasing, living, dying, loving, laughing, languishing...
