The ELZWARE story so far...
1997-1998:
Phil studies human behaviour online and offline at University College London, noticing some interesting discrepancies and interdependencies.2002:
ELZWARE is born in a little room off a patio in South London, on an old cabinet-making bench, complete with vice and attached bottle opener...We launch our very first website, are thrilled to receive Times coverage and start looking at virtual worlds for kids and local government. Yhaken in born.
2003:
Things are looking up... and west! ELZWARE moves to Bristol to capitalise on the wealth of local talent, both technical and creative. Phil and his wife start a shoe business called Lush Shoes just in case life gets boring.2004:
Joined forces with our primary strategic partner, Creative Virtual. Together we start work on a diverse range of projects, most notably, Lloyds Insurance and Lloyds TSB. Configured our system to deal with FAQs in a way that makes traditional FAQ systems redundant.2005:
Our authoring and technical teams are evolving, and work begins in earnest on Yhaken.2006:
It's time to get seriously organised - we initiate the development of sales consultancy, implementation plans, reporting methodology and support packages.ELZWARE and Creative Virtual deploy systems for BT, Sharp, Sky, Legal & General, and many more.
ELZWARE starts work on DesignBot - the parent of our current educational package - and run two trials. We start looking at the limitations of auto categorising search engines and configure our delivery process to replace them where appropriate
2007:
Big bang... 2007's the year we go global. ELZWARE and Creative Virtual expand into the US with DTE, Roxio and Philips.ELZWARE goes back to school - we're making great ground in the education sector in partnership with the Bristol CLC organisation, with the groundbreaking TeachBot install helping kids understand writing tasks in secondary schools.
2008:
TeachBot sees continued success in and we get firm agreement for further rollout into Maths as a subject area.Two whole new worlds? ELZWARE starts expansion into Second Life and starts strategic partnering to expand in the USA.
On the technical front, Elzware starts working with handheld devices and is in discussion with voice recognition specialists - a hugely exciting development which could open up the Internet to whole new audiences.
